Complete FPGA Projection Correction Solution

BergLogic provides an FPGA projection-correction solution for high-end projectors, laser TVs, simulators and immersive displays. Real-time 4K at 120fps requires only one 64-bit DDR4 memory group. The reconfigurable architecture combines multiple geometry modes with image-quality processing while providing an alternative technology and sourcing path to fixed-function ASICs.

Complete Functional Block Diagram

Video enters the FPGA through the selected interface. The geometry engine applies Keystone, pincushion, barrel or asymmetric warping, integrates configurable 2×–4× scaling, and selects bilinear or bicubic interpolation according to image-quality and resource targets. One 64-bit DDR4 memory group supports frame access. Image filtering repairs jagged warp edges and smooths internal regions; warp post-processing handles crop and output-region control. Output timing then generates the target resolution, refresh rate and synchronization, while configuration management supports runtime updates.

Core Advantages

  • Lower external-memory demand: Real-time 4K at 120fps projection correction uses only one 64-bit DDR4 memory group, reducing memory devices, PCB routing, power and BOM pressure.
  • A more resilient sourcing path: The FPGA implementation offers an alternative to fixed-function ASIC architectures, supporting a diversified solution strategy and reducing dependence on one technology or supply source.
  • Broader image-quality enhancement: Compared with a fixed-function ASIC pipeline, the reconfigurable FPGA can integrate interpolation, edge anti-aliasing, internal smoothing, crop and output control, with room for project-specific expansion.
  • One geometry engine supports Keystone, pincushion, barrel and asymmetric warping for varied projector installations.
  • V-by-One, HDMI, LVDS and other video I/O combine with configuration management for automatic correction or sensor-calibration systems.

Integration and Delivery

BergLogic can deliver projection geometry correction IP, image filtering and post-processing, configuration management, output timing generation, multiple video-interface integrations, a 64-bit DDR4 architecture, FPGA reference design and production-oriented optimization.
