ST 2110 IP Suite for JPEG XS

SMPTE ST 2110 defines how separate video, audio and other professional media streams are transported and synchronized over IP networks.

ST 2110 IP Suite for JPEG XS is media transport IP for FPGA and SoC designs, providing real-time JPEG XS video and PCM audio transport, with full compatibility with IPMX media transport specifications. Hardware handles packetization, media timing, transmit traffic shaping, receive buffering and codestream recovery. Sender, Receiver and combined configurations are available with RTL, drivers, SDP tools and integration examples.

Simplify media network integration

Connect to media networks

Bring JPEG XS video and PCM audio onto ST 2110 networks with transport functions beyond the codec.

Control transmit traffic

Hardware buffering, scheduling and shaping control bursts in outgoing video traffic.

Recover ordered media

Handle network jitter, reordering and duplicate packets to deliver ordered media downstream.

Integrate with supplied tools

RTL, drivers, SDP tools and interface examples reduce work on low-level integration.

For FPGA and SoC-based IPMX solutions, the Suite provides network transport for JPEG XS video and PCM audio, serving as the media transport core of a complete IPMX system.

Its ST 2110-22 transport, media timing and traffic shaping provide the core foundation for JPEG XS Broadcast applications, with project-specific integration of Broadcast timing, control and ancillary data functions.

Standards, interfaces and configuration

The current version supports one 4K60 channel or four 1080p channels, with performance customization available for project requirements. Video format, compression parameters, link bandwidth and buffering determine system capacity together. Available media configurations on 1GbE / 10GbE depend on the actual bit rate and protocol overhead.

End-to-end latency includes JPEG XS encoding/decoding, ST 2110 transport processing, network transit and HDMI output processing. It is measured in source video line periods and varies with system configuration and network conditions.
